Scope
Origins is a fictional herbal infusion tea brand designed to bridge ancestral healing practices with contemporary tastes. Created in collaboration with Gus Brizuela, the project involved developing an entire brand from scratch including competitive analysis, visual identity, and packaging design. Origins focuses on blending indigenous herbs into intentional infusions that honor cultural roots, while embracing values of sustainability and community care.
Challenges
Cultural & Regional Research: One of the biggest challenges was diving deep into the regions and cultures tied to each herb. We wanted to ensure every infusion had meaning and story behind it, so we spent time researching the historical significance behind these ingredients.Balancing Medicinal & Modern Flavor Profiles: It's not uncommon for traditional herbs have strong or unfamiliar tastes. Our goal was to honor their natural healing properties while pairing them with flavors that would resonate with more modern palates.Educating Through Flavor, Not Just Design: Creating modernized illustrations that equally informed and spark curiosity was a challenge. Striking that balance between taste, story, and visual identity required intentional choices and directly taking inspiration from our own roots and from those within the regions we researched.
Solution
Cultural and Market Research: We conducted competitor and historical research to better understand both mainstream trends and the cultural significance of these ingredients, allowing us to design respectfully and strategically.Collaborative Brand Development: Working closely together, we developed a visual system that layered storytelling, cultural references, and minimal yet expressive design.Modern Packaging: We used organic forms, pigments, rich textures, and thoughtful typography to reflect each tea's origin while making the product shelf-ready and design-forward.
What’s a Rich Text element?
The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.
Static and dynamic content editing
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
How to customize formatting for each rich text
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
